Natural habitats and ecosystems are QL Endau’s utmost concern. We endeavour to conserve our oceans with care in tackling climate change. In our deep-sea fishing, QL Endau’s purse seiners are equipped with the most advanced fishing sonar, radar and current indicator for precise navigation to identify targeted fish schools.
To optimise catch, the advanced sonar complemented by onboard high power fishing lighting system effectively discerns targeted fish school size and movement. The data collected and processed enables proper net deployment and charting a better course to reach the targeted school more accurately.
Upon arrival at QL Endau’s own jetty, the fresh catch is immediately sorted and graded accordingly. Production for frozen fish is carried out immediately to ensure its freshness and qualities are well preserved. To ensure maximum goodness for consumers, we ensure fast delivery for local and export consumption.
Fresh Choice and Endau Bay are our house brands for frozen fish products.
To complement our deep-sea fishing activities, QL Endau also trades various seafood and aquaculture products including pelagic fish, farmed fish and prawn from our own aquaculture farms as well as overseas vendors like China, Vietnam and Japan. We import these products to sell locally in low supply periods experienced during monsoon seasons. We have high-capacity, state-of-the-art cold storage facilities to ensure freshness of products for consumers.
Surimi is a Japanese term for semi-processed minced fish paste produced from fresh fish. Starting with good quality fish, care and safety go into every step of our surimi production. From cleanliness to ensuring no foreign matter, QL Endau employs technology to ensure we produce the best quality surimi. Every block of surimi produced is scanned through metal detector and X-ray machine before being packed and frozen in contact freezer before storage in a -18°C cold room.
QL Endau’s surimi are ideal for the production of: imitation crabstick, kamaboko, fish tofu, fish ball, pre-fried fish cake, chikuwa, and many more. We also produce otoshimi for the domestic market to make keropok lekor (fish sausage) and keropok kering (fish crackers), which are local favourites among Malaysians.
Our surimi is sold locally and internationally, in countries such as Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and China.
Our fishmeal plant utilises the latest Norwegian technology to produce high grade fishmeal for aquaculture and livestock feed markets. The process begins with washing raw fish sourced from our catch before being sent for further processing. They are then steam dried and conveyed to meal coolers to prevent overheating before being ground by a hammer mill. The ground fishmeal powder is then sent for final packing. As part of our quality control, we consistently monitor various specifications to ensure adherence to high grade fishmeal benchmarks.
Our workers undergo continuous training and uphold the strict requirements of food hygiene, safety and product quality control including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Makanan Selamat Tanggungjawab Industri (MeSTI) and ISO 9001 standard. In addition, our frozen surimi and otoshimi are certified Halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
